The M&A partner co-led Dutch recruitment firm Randstad’s $429 million purchase of Massachusetts-based Monster Worldwide Inc., which owns job website pioneer monster.com. It is the first time for Dermarkar to represent Radstad.

Randstad turned to Jones Day lawyers specializing in an array of disciplines from 10 of the firm’s offices around the world to handle the deal. Other Dallas-based attorneys who worked on the transaction included partners Wes Loegering and Evan Singer, who tackled compliance matters.

Dermarkar’s co-leads for the corporate aspect of the deal are based in Jones Day’s Silicon Valley and Atlanta offices. Attorneys from the firm’s New York, Los Angeles, Paris, Munich, Frankfurt, Amsterdam and Washington, D.C. offices were also involved.

After the closing of the transaction, which is anticipated to occur in the fourth quarter, Monster will be delisted from the New York Stock Exchange and operate as a separate entity under Randstad.

The deal will increase Randstad’s presence in the job recruitment industry in the U.S. Randstad ranks itself as the second largest human resources provider in the world. Its services range from regular temporary staffing and permanent placements to in-house services, professionals, search & selection, outplacement and HR solutions. Last year, the firm generated $21.3 billion in revenues.
