Dallas Public Finance Pros Join Bracewell

July 8, 2019 Brooks Igo

Bracewell has further strengthened its deep public finance bench with the addition of Dallas duo Bill Mahomes and Steve Bolden.

Mahomes and Bolden have led their own boutique law firm – Mahomes Bolden PC – for more than a decade. Their clients include DFW Airport, the North Texas Tollway Authority, the Texas Water Development Board and the City of Dallas.

“Bracewell is an undisputed leader in public finance,” Mahomes said in a statement. “Steve and I have worked with the Bracewell team on several occasions, and look forward to working with our new colleagues in better serving the needs of our existing clients.”

In January 2018, Mahomes Bolden PC was named a finalist for M&A Deal of the Year in the DFW Outstanding Corporate Counsel Awards for its work in assisting NTTA with issuing two series of bonds for a combined $2.6 billion. It was the third largest governmental bond transaction in the U.S. in 2017.

“I have had the opportunity to work with Bill Mahomes and Steve Bolden since 2015. In addition to providing general bond and disclosure advice, they have served as the “keeper of the document” on major bond refunding transactions during the last four plus years,” NTTA General Counsel Dena Stroh says.

“Bill and Steve going over to Bracewell will be a win-win for both sides. Bill and Steve will have a larger platform, and Bracewell will gain experienced lawyers who have handled some of the biggest municipal bond refinancing transactions in the country during the last few years.”
