David Chaumette Takes Post as President of the HBA

David A. Chaumette, founding partner of Chaumette, PLLC, took office May 16th as the new president of the Houston Bar Association (HBA), the fifth largest metropolitan bar association in the nation. He succeeds Locke Lord’s Brent Benoit.

Chaumette, a member of the HBA Board of Directors since 2004, has held the offices of president-elect, first vice president, second vice president, secretary and director. He focuses his practice on business litigation.

Other new HBA officers are Carter Crow of Fulbright & Jaworski, president-elect; Todd M. Frankfort of Flowers & Frankfort, first vice president; Benny Agosto, Jr. of Abraham, Watkins, Nichols, Sorrels, Agosto & Friend, second vice president; Neil D. Kelly of Andrews Kurth, secretary and Laura Gibson of Ogden, Gibson, Broocks, Longoria & Hall, treasurer. Benoit will serve on the board as immediate past president.

New directors for 2013-2015 are the Hon. David O. Fraga, Houston municipal judge; Jennifer A. Hasley of Hasley Scarano; Bill Kroger of Baker Botts; and Daniella D. Landers of Sutherland, Asbill & Brennan.
