(Jan. 10) – The Dallas Bar Association announced Tuesday that Florentino “Tino” Ramirez is the recipient of this year’s Martin Luther King Jr. Justice Award. He will be honored at a luncheon at the Belo Mansion on Monday, January 15.

Ramirez, founder of the law firm Ramirez & Associates, joins a distinguished list of past winners of the MLK Justice Award: Ron Kirk, the former Dallas mayor and Gibson Dunn of counsel; Texas Senator Royce West; K&L Gates partner Kim Askew; E. Leon Carter; Justice Carolyn Wright; and Dr. Michael J. Sorrell, president of Paul Quinn College.

“For decades, Tino has embodied the fight for social justice in a firm but calming manner. I have looked up to Tino since I was a young lawyer for his leadership, professionalism and his role in paving the way for Hispanic lawyers throughout the state. I am proud to see Tino receive the recognition for all that he has humbly accomplished,” DBA President Michael Hurst said in a statement.
