(Jan. 21) – Marc Kesselman has left PepsiCo and Frito Lay to be the new general counsel at Dean Foods.
Kesselman, who is highly respected in the corporate legal community, will officially join Dallas-based Dean Foods on Jan. 26.
“I am very excited to join Dean Foods, a company known for wholesome, great-tasting dairy products,” Kesselman told The Texas Lawbook. “As the largest fluid dairy processor in the United States, Dean Foods provides a perfect opportunity for me to employ my legal and government experience in food and agriculture to help drive business growth.”
Kesselman will hold the titles executive vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary. He will report directly to CEO Gregg Tanner.
“Marc brings a wealth of global legal and business experience, and has been a trusted advisor to senior executives focused on business growth,” Tanner said in a written statement released Wednesday. “I believe he already embodies the Company’s Guiding Principles, making him an ideal fit for Dean Foods.”
Kesselman had been the general counsel at Frito-Lay North America and PepsiCo’s food businesses in North and South America since January 2009.
From 2006 to 2008, he was the general counsel at the U.S. Department of Agriculture. From 2003 to 2006, he was the deputy general counsel at the Bush Administration’s Office of Management and Budget.
