(Oct. 25) – DLA Piper announced yesterday that it has lured private equity and M&A partner Jason Whiteley.
Whiteley, who previously practiced at Willkie, will be based in the firm’s Houston and Washington, D.C. offices.
He specializes in advising companies in the energy sector on transactions involving oil and gas exploration and production, electric utilities and independent power producers.
The move to bring on Whiteley come on the heels of Amy Rudd recently joining the firm’s litigation group as a partner in Austin.
Rudd was previously at Dechert. She represents clients in a number of industries, including pharmaceutical products, financial services, healthcare and insurance.
On the pro bono side, Rudd successfully represented the Texas NAACP and the Mexican American Legislative Caucus in a bench trial and appellate briefing against Texas’ voter ID law in 2016.
