DLA Piper Promotes Two to Partner in Austin

(Jan. 11) – DLA Piper announced yesterday that two Austin lawyers are among its new class of partners.

Jenifer Smith, a graduate of the University of Texas School of Law, focuses her practice on corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, public offerings and venture capital financings.

Karen Nelson, chair of the firm’s healthcare regulatory enforcement and compliance practice, advises health industry providers, investors and vendors on compliance with health industry regulations and represents them in related administrative and judicial proceedings. She received her law degree from Baylor University School of Law.
