Dykema has recently added depth to its bankruptcy practice by acquiring the Houston bankruptcy boutique Umari Zugaro, PLLC.
Basil Umari and Nicholas Zugaro co-founded their firm just last year. They join Dykema as senior counsel. While both live in Houston, Dykema lists them as part of the firm’s Dallas office on its website.
“The addition of Basil and Nick not only expands our Texas and national footprint but enhances our ability to handle complex litigation,” Deborah Williamson, leader of Dykema’s bankruptcy practice, said in a statement.
Umari and Zugaro have represented debtors, liquidating trustees, official creditors’ committees, secured creditors, unsecured creditors, equity holders, officers and directors, patent holders, landlords, tenants and asset purchasers in corporate bankruptcy cases in New York, Delaware, Texas and other venues.
The press release announcing the new additions stated Dykema “expects to expand its bankruptcy practice group by adding more talent in the near future.” The firm currently has 12 bankruptcy lawyers in Texas.
