Haynes and Boone, LLP enjoyed solid revenue and income growth in 2016, bolstered by strong performances in our technology, financial services, energy, corporate and litigation practices. We achieved many milestones, starting with our mid-year merger with leading London firm Curtis Davis Garrard. Here is a small sample of our other successes:

       Advised Callon Petroleum Company in connection with four equity offerings for $1.4 billion in net proceeds; the issuance of $400 million of senior unsecured notes in a Rule 144A transaction; and multiple acquisitions in the Permian Basin involving $1.3 billion in assets;

       Represented Trans Energy, Inc. on a transaction that was awarded the 2016 “Out-of-Court Restructuring Deal of the Year” by The M&A Advisor. As part of the transaction, Trans Energy was able to close a sale in 2016 for $3.58 a share, netting in excess of $200 million;

       Advised American Airline in its commencement of daily flight service to Cuba in 2016, one of the most significant Cuban projects since the Cuban Revolution;
       Represented Landry’s Inc., one of the country’s largest dining, hospitality and entertainment companies in connection with (i) a $1.5 billion senior secured credit facility , (ii) a simultaneous issuance of $600 million of new senior unsecured notes and (iii) the redemption of Landry’s outstanding notes;

       Won dismissal of all claims filed against the National Football League in a high-profile class action involving claims related to the NFL’s distribution of tickets to Super Bowl XLVIII in New Jersey;

       In a rare ruling, a federal judge awarded firm client ARGO Data Resource Corporation and co-defendant BancorpSouth Bank attorneys’ fees and defense costs totaling nearly $1 million, an award that came after the defendants successfully fought multiple claims in state and federal court;

       Won an appellate ruling for Houston television station KTRK-TV in a defamation suit arising out of station’s true reports about the closing of a local charter school.
