Polsinelli – Major 2016 Accomplishments In Texas
2016 was a year of continued strong performance and significant growth in Polsinelli’s Texas offices. Today, the two offices’ multi-disciplinary service offerings include corporate and transactional, employee benefits, financial services, health care, intellectual property, labor and employment, litigation, nonprofit organizations and real estate practices.
Last year, Polsinelli expanded its geographic footprint with the addition of a new Houston office. The firm integrated with Houston-based Novak Druce to create one of the country’s largest IP practice groups with more than 120 attorneys – including 12 in the new Houston office alone. Just a few months later, Polsinelli was named one of four “IP Litigation Powerhouses” in the BTI Litigation Outlook Report and a Top Patent Law Firm by IPWatchdog. Recently, Polsinelli elevated IP to its own service department, which will provide additional resources and create a platform for the firm’s projected investment into IP.
Meanwhile, the Dallas office has grown by nearly 15 percent over the past year, becoming the firm’s 5th largest nationwide, with 80 employees and 46 attorneys. Given healthcare business concentrations and healthcare-related innovations in the Texas market, Polsinelli has continued to position itself as a leading legal advisor in the healthcare sector. 2016 marked the 9th year of the Dallas office’s annual Healthcare Dealmakers Conference, bringing together healthcare business leaders from across the country to discuss the opportunities and challenges of deal-making in healthcare services. This year the firm will be organizing the 10th year of the conference, which will take place May 17-18 in Las Colinas.
Polsinelli is a steadfast community partner throughout Texas, supporting the startup ecosystem, business and civic organizations by providing advice, sponsorships, and pro bono services to organizations such as the Dallas Regional Chamber/Dallas Innovates, Dallas Entrepreneur Center, BioNorth Texas, Rice University Alliance and Business Competition and the Houston Angel Network.
