Porter Hedges Report on 2016
In 2016, Porter Hedges saw robust activity from many of the firm’s key practice areas. Activity in both the transactional and litigation practice groups resulted in one of the most successful years in the history of the firm. Some of the key highlights included the following:
- Representation of Energy Transfer and Sunoco Logistics in the $2B sale of a minority stake in Bakken Pipeline Project to Enbridge and Marathon Petroleum
- Representation of Alaska’s Chugach Electric Association in the $152M acquisition of interest in natural gas field from ConocoPhillips
- Representation of White Star Petroleum in $200M acquisition of shale assets from Devon Energy Corporation
- Representation of EIV Capital in the sale of four landfill gas-to-energy facilities to Cube District Energy
- Representation of California-based, private independent oil and natural gas company Matrix Oil in its merger agreement with Royale Energy
- Representation of Noble Energy in a transaction with CONSOL Energy Inc. to separate their upstream Marcellus Joint Venture by means of an Exchange Agreement
- Representation of Credit Suisse Securities (USA) and J.P. Morgan Securities in $95 Million Public Offering by independent oil and natural gas company Callon Petroleum
- Representation of Houston-based Medic-CE.com LLC, a leading online continuing education provider for EMS and firefighting professionals, in its acquisition by Career Step LLC
- Representation of Davis Energy, a privately-held, Houston-based, independent oil and gas company in its merger with Yuma Energy
- Representation of Houston-based Par Pacific Holdings in the $271M acquisition of Wyoming Refining Company
- Representation of the Reserve at Shadow Creek Ranch and NewQuest Crosswell in its negotiation with HealthSouth Corp. on the plan to build a rehabilitation hospital in Pearland, Texas.
- Representation of Fred Haas Interests as co-owners of Fisher-Haas Infiniti, Inc. and Clear Lake Infiniti, LP in the sale of both Houston-area dealerships to John Eagle Automotive Group.
