Fisher Phillips Adds Two Lawyers to Expand Dallas Presence

January 6, 2025 Krista Torralva

Fisher Phillips has added a partner and an of-counsel lawyer to expand its Dallas office.

Amanda Brown, formerly a partner at Reed Smith, and Lauren McDonald, previously senior in-house counsel at Tenet Healthcare, are the latest Fisher Phillips hires in Dallas. Brown joined the labor and employment firm in late December and McDonald came on board this month.

Fisher Phillip’s Dallas office tripled in size from four to 12 lawyers by the end of 2024. Those additions include Adam Sloustcher, who moved from San Diego to become regional managing partner of the Dallas office in July. McDonald’s hire brings the office’s headcount to 13 lawyers.

“Amanda’s strong track record representing clients in significant employment matters combined with Lauren’s in-house prowess expands the breadth and depth of the labor and employment law support we can offer clients from litigation to arbitration and everything in between,” Sloustcher said.

Brown joined Reed Smith as an associate in 2019 and rose the ranks to partner by January 2023, according to her LinkedIn profile. Other previous stints include Morgan, Lewis & Bockius and Alston & Bird. She is a 2013 graduate of Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law. Brown earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science and Spanish from Emory University.

In her practice, Brown has represented employers against claims of discrimination, retaliation, wrongful discharge, violations of leave law and wage and hour law, whistleblower allegations and restrictive covenants.

“I’ve witnessed the way Fisher Phillips partners with clients to help solve their most complex workplace issues, and this approach closely aligns with my aim of delivering exceptional client service by understanding each client’s business objectives and tailoring solutions to meet their unique needs,” Brown said.

McDonald’s résumé includes an in-house counsel role at Tarrant County College and stops at law firms Dowell Pham Harrison and Cantey Hanger. McDonald is a 2013 graduate of Baylor University School of Law. Her bachelor’s degree is in business management from Texas A&M University.
