(Feb. 28) – Five attorneys were recognized among the winners of the Dallas Business Journal’s 2017 Minority Business Leader Awards at a luncheon downtown last week.
Elizabeth Cedillo-Pereira is a solo immigration law attorney. She recently served as a former senior adviser of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement for President Barack Obama’s administration in the Department of Homeland Security.
Raymond Ferrell is executive vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary of Dex Media. In 2016, he led the Dallas-based digital marketing services company through Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
Emmanuel Obi runs his own law practice focusing on small business, corporate, public finance and community legal advocacy matters.
John Torres is executive vice president, chief legal officer and secretary of Richardson-based Lennox International. He told the DBJ that the most rewarding part of his career has been building a legal team at a large publicly traded company twice.
Henry Talavera is a shareholder at Polsinelli, where he focuses his practice on employee benefits and tax matters.
