(July 29) – After 13 years and completing more than 100 jury trials as an assistant U.S. attorney, Jay Dewald is jumping to Andrews Kurth as a partner in its litigation and dispute resolution practice, the firm recently announced.
Dewald, who will office in Dallas and Houston, most recently served as the Deputy Criminal Chief in the Special Prosecutions Section for the Northern District of Texas in Dallas, where he supervised all public corruption, health care fraud, civil rights and environmental crimes prosecutions.
In addition to Deputy Criminal Chief, Dewald has previously supervised the Major Crimes Section and served as the U.S. Attorney’s Office’s Criminal Health Care Fraud Coordinator and as a member of its Organized Crime and Drug Enforcement Task Force.
Prior to joining the U.S. Attorney’s Office, the University of Texas School of Law graduate spent five years as an Assistant District Attorney in Dallas County.
