Harris County Judge Randy Wilson has returned to private practice at Susman Godfrey, where he was one of the original partners when the firm was founded in 1980.
Wilson, who practiced at Susman Godfrey for more than two decades, was appointed to the 157th District Court of Harris County by then-Texas Governor Rick Perry in 2003. He served on the bench for the next 15 years and was twice named Trial Judge of the Year by the Texas Association of Civil Trial and Appellate Specialists.
“Randy was here from the beginning,” Steve Susman said in a statement. “He helped me build the firm into what it is today. I am so happy to welcome him home. He was a wonderful judge and is an even better trial lawyer.”
Wilson, a graduate of the University of Houston Law Center, was defeated in his bid for re-election in November by Democrat Tanya Garrison.
