(Feb. 6) – Catherine Morse, former general counsel and senior director of public affairs for Samsung Austin Semiconductor, has returned to private practice as a member at the Austin regulatory law firm Enoch Kever.
For the past 10-plus years, Morse managed all legal affairs for Samsung Austin Semiconductor, including contract negotiations, litigation management, environmental compliance, immigration, labor and employment law issues, legal training and general legal counseling. She also oversaw the company’s media relations, corporate philanthropy, volunteerism and government relations.
“Catherine will be the sixth former general counsel to join our firm enhancing our ability to understand and help solve the problems in-house counsel face,” Andy Kever, managing member of Enoch Kever, said in a statement. “We are thrilled that Catherine is joining our ranks.”
The other former general counsel at Enoch Kever are Kever, Bill Moore, Katherine Mudge, John Vay and Martha Smiley.
Prior to her tenure at Samsung Austin Semiconductor, Morse held in-house positions at Freescale Semiconductor and Applied Materials. She graduated from the University of Houston Law Center in 1990 and started her legal career at Vinson & Elkins.
Morse is a past winner of a number of business and community awards, including the Austin Business Journal’s Woman of Influence award; the Girl Scouts of Central Texas Woman of Distinction award; and the Anti-Defamation League of Austin Jurisprudence Trailblazer award.
