Fort Worth Bankruptcy Boutique Adds Depth

July 31, 2020 Brooks Igo

Forshey Prostok, a law firm based in Fort Worth specializing in bankruptcy and restructuring, added two attorneys this week.

The boutique signed Houston partner Deirdre Carey Brown and Fort Worth of counsel Michael Ricketts bringing the firm’s total headcount to 11.

“I don’t know of many firms in Texas, big or small, with the business bankruptcy firepower our firm offers,” managing partner Jeff Prostok said in a statement. “Particularly as we face growing demand in the energy sector, Deirdre’s experience in both Houston and Louisiana will serve our clients well.”

Brown, who joins Forshey Prostok from HooverSlovacek, has represented Chapter 11 debtors, official committees and creditors. She said she was drawn to the firm’s ability to support complex cases.

“I was impressed by the quality of Forshey Prostok’s lawyers, and I’m looking forward to helping grow the firm’s base in Houston,” Brown said in an announcement. “The bankruptcy judges in Houston have excelled in handling the complex case docket while being proactive and accommodating in dealing with issues from COVID-19.

“We will surely see an increase in complex cases filing in Houston in the coming months.”
