(Sept. 30) – Fox Rothschild announced this week that Mark Platt, a financial restructuring litigator, has joined the firm’s Dallas office as a partner.
Platt was previously at McGuireWoods. He says Fox Rothschild is a “natural, good fit.
“When the Fox Rothschild merger with David & Goodman took place [in 2014], I took note,” he said. “The firm’s different philosophical bent as it relates to rate structure will present new opportunities for me.”
The SMU Dedman School of Law graduate primarily represents clients in the retail, telecom, oil and gas and real estate sectors. He says the hot topic in bankruptcy and restructuring circles is still oil and gas.
“It is the one sector in the economy obviously in distress,” he said. “It is unique because usually when one sector is in distress it affects others.”
