(May 6) – The State Bar of Texas recently announced that Frank Stevenson, a partner at Locke Lord, has been elected State Bar of Texas President-Elect. He will serve as president for the 2016-2017 term.
Stevenson has a long history of bar association service.
He served on the State Bar of Texas Board of Directors from 2010-2014 and as its chair in 2012-2013.
In 2008, he served as the president of the Dallas Bar Association, where he helped co-found the Transition to Law Practice Program, a mentoring program that also trains lawyers with targeted CLE regarding law practice management, effective client representation, pro bono opportunities, wellness issues and career development.
He has chaired the Campaign for Equal Access to Justice and currently serves on the Legislative Advisory Committee of the Texas Access to Justice Commission. He is also founding chair of the DBA’s Summer Law Intern Program, which offers law firm internships to minority students in DISD.
Stevenson is also active in the community. Her serves as an associate member of the Dallas Citizens Council, a director of the North Dallas Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Dallas Foundation’s Scholarship Committee and as president of the Sammons Center for the Arts.
