(May 31) – Gardere Wynne Sewell announced recently that it is deepening its litigation bench in Dallas with the addition of Sean Whyte as a partner.
Whyte has practiced the last five years at Alston & Bird. He handles complex commercial litigation, consumer class actions and products liability cases.
At Alston & Bird, Whyte won a victory for his client at the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals in a case involving Texas’ Anti-SLAPP statute. He also helped win the first dismissal of a federal action under the Texas Health and Safety Code statute granting limited immunity to telecommunication providers related to 911 calls.
The University of Texas School of Law graduate was named the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program’s Pro Bono Lawyer of the Year in 2010.
