March 7, 2012 – Gardere Wynne Sewell’s Houston energy practice represented BP America Production Company in the $1.2 billion sale of its Hugoton Basin natural gas production facilities in southwestern Kansas to an affiliate of Houston-based LINN Energy, LLC, Gardere announced Wednesday.
The agreement signed Feb. 28, 2012 includes the Jayhawk gas processing plant in Hugoton, Kan. and approximately 2,400 natural gas wells over 600,000 contiguous acres in the Hugoton natural gas field. The deal is expected to close by the end of this month.
LINN Energy senior counsel Holly Anderson represented the firm in the acquisition.
Timothy M. Spear, energy mergers and acquisitions partner, led the Gardere team in Houston. He was assisted by Houston energy mergers and acquisitions partner Douglas K. Eyberg, and energy associates Eunice Song (Houston), Jennifer L. Smith (Austin), and Austin Ke (Dallas).
