(April 8) – Greenberg Traurig announced this week that it strengthened its litigation practice in Dallas by adding three more lawyers from DLA Piper, including office managing partner Karl Dial.

He is joined by shareholder Casey Moore and associate Samuel Davison. They moved to Greenberg Traurig less than a month after their former DLA Piper colleagues Manuel Rajunov and Dania Duncan lateraled over.

The focus from Greenberg Traurig’s management team on building its Texas presence impressed Dial.

“I wanted to be in a thriving Dallas office,” he said. “There is a lot of energy here.”

Dial, who is also a CPA, specializes in representing directors and officers in securities class actions, derivative cases and proxy solicitation claims. Moore focuses her practice on representing broker-dealers and brokers in securities claims and directors and officers in class actions and derivative shareholder proceedings.

Dial says he is seeing more regulatory investigations of his clients from multiple state and federal agencies.

In January, Dial resolved a class action securities case for the professional service firm UHY. Last summer, he helped the accounting firm BDO reach a settlement in the Allen Stanford Ponzi scheme litigation.
