Greenberg Traurig announced on Tuesday that Houston corporate attorney Carlos Treistman has lateraled to the firm from Orrick, where he co-chaired the firm’s Latin America practice.
Treistman focuses his practice on cross-border mergers and acquisitions, privatizations, joint ventures, infrastructure development projects and private equity transactions.
“Carlos’s reputation, not simply as a LatAm star, but also as a superb M&A and private equity lawyer, deepens our strong Texas corporate bench at this pivotal and exciting time in the continuing diversification of our state’s economy,” Mary-Olga Lovett, the firm’s senior vice president and the co-regional operating shareholder of its Texas offices, said in a statement.
Last April, Treistman was part of the deal team that advised Statoil on its acquisition with Total of a 60 percent interest in the Gulf of Mexico’s North Platte discovery from bankrupt Cobalt International Energy for $339 million.
