By Brooks Igo – (January 8) – Kids in Need of Defense (KIND) appointed Greenberg Traurig shareholder Jennifer Tomsen as a founding member of its newly formed Houston Advisory Committee, the firm recently announced. Tomsen has worked with KIND for more than four years.
Tomsen, the pro bono co-coordinator for the Houston office, has been recognized by KIND before as a Pro Bono Attorney of the Month. The commercial litigator is also the co-chair of the Law Advisory Board for Children at Risk and a board member of the Tahirih Justice Center.
KIND matches pro bono attorneys with unaccompanied immigrant children in removal proceedings who would otherwise face the legal system alone.
