(Nov. 19) – Hall, Render, Killian, Heath & Lyman, the largest law firm in the country devoted to representing health care providers, recently announced the opening of its Dallas office, the firm’s first in Texas.

The Indianapolis-based law firm merged with health care law boutique Stewart Courington. James “Mac” Stewart, who founded the Dallas-based firm in 2000, will lead the office and is joined by Flauren Bender, Christie Davis, Keith Dugger, Ty Johnson, Brandon Kulwicki and John Prudhomme.

“Talking to Hall Render was like talking to ourselves,” Stewart says. “We understand health care providers. Unless you live it and breathe it every day, you won’t understand it.”

Stewart says Hall Render, which has nearly 200 lawyers that represent more than 1,500 health care entities nationwide, had clients in Texas, but wanted to have lawyers based in the state to serve those clients better.

With the merger, Stewart says he expects to see a growth in representing health care providers on the revenue side as Hall Render has attorneys with significant revenue cycle expertise. He also anticipates his team will handle more compliance work and help clients navigate the regulatory and transactional landscape in Texas.
