Haynes Boone has six new attorneys to be thankful for this holiday week.
The firm announced Monday the additions of veteran labor and employment partners Ann Marie Painter and April Goff from Perkins Coie and a private wealth team led by Bill Mureiko and Sarah Marks from Holland & Knight.
Dallas office managing partner Sakina Foster said the moves “show our commitment to growing the Dallas office further with key strategic hires.”
Foster said estate planning depth is important for a full-service firm, noting the long-standing client relationships the team of Mureiko, Marks and senior counsel Barbara Ferguson and Eric Reis have. Their clients include multigenerational families, entrepreneurs, and privately-held companies.
“We have spent years – and in some cases, decades – building relationships with Texas families who want legal advice grounded in practicality and trust,” Mureiko said in a statement. “Haynes Boone offers a platform where we can expand that work with the support of a firm that values long-term relationships with clients in our community.”
Painter and Goff each bring more than two decades of experience advising employers on labor and employment issues. Painter specializes in employment discrimination and unfair competition matters and internal investigations, while Goff focuses on ERISA and employee benefits counseling, healthcare and workforce privacy, and employment compliance. Goff is also a former in-house lawyer for JCPenney.
Foster pointed to Goff’s expertise in employee benefits as a boon for the firm’s M&A practice especially and across the transactions team.
Haynes Boone’s deep Texas roots were a determining factor for Painter and Goff. The firm ranked third in Texas headcount for 2024, according to Texas Lawbook 50 research.
“The strength of Haynes Boone’s Texas platform made this an ideal move for me in such a rapidly evolving business and legal climate,” she said, while also highlighting the firm’s growing international presence.
Haynes Boone has onboarded more than 25 lateral partners across the firm in 2025 and also recently expanded its C-suite by hiring Kristen Uhl Hulse as chief talent officer.
Foster said 2025 performance is looking great. The firm achieved record revenues and profits in 2024.
“It’s been a wonderful year for both transactional and litigation,” she said. “We are doing well and meeting projections.”
