The Houston Bar Association named the successor to long-time executive director Kay Sim this week.
Mindy G. Davidson, who was most recently a senior director at professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal, will take the baton from Sim, who retired on March 1 after more than four decades of serving the bar.
Davidson is also a former compensation and benefits counsel at LyondellBasell and Continental Airlines. She started her legal career in 1987 at Andrews Kurth, where she practiced for almost 20 years.
“I am inspired by the commitment of the HBA staff to serving the needs of the Houston-area lawyers and our community,” Davidson said in a statement.
“It is an honor, and I look forward to working with the board of directors and the HBA staff to build on this strong foundation as we approach the HBA’s 150thanniversary.”
Davidson serves on the board of the Houston Area Women’s Center and is a leader in the Center for Women in Law. She received a certification with distinction in nonprofit finance from the Rice University Center for Philanthropic & Nonprofit Leadership.
