Hilgers Launches New Practice With Dallas Litigator

March 25, 2026 Elle Grinnell

Leanne Thoreson, a labor and employment senior counsel, has joined Hilgers in Dallas from Bradley Arant Boult Cummings. She will focus her practice on employment litigation and counseling, including workplace disputes, compliance and risk mitigation strategies, according to a news release. Her arrival marks the launch of Hilgers’ Labor & Employment practice as the firm expands its capabilities to meet the demand for employment services.

Before joining Hilgers, Thoreson practiced at Bradley Arant, where she handled a broad range of employment-related disputes and advisory matters. Before that, she was a staff attorney at Baker Botts for seven years with experience representing companies and individuals in litigation and pre-litigation matters involving discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, wage and hour laws, breach of contract and trade secrets disputes.

She also previously served as in-house counsel at TRT Holdings Inc., the holding company for Omni Hotels, Gold’s Gym, and Tana Oil and Gas, providing her with additional perspective on the business side of employment and compliance issues.

She began her law career as an associate at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, where she stayed for more than three years.

“After practicing my entire career in storied Big Law firms, I was drawn to Hilgers for its entrepreneurial approach to litigation and commitment to its clients,” said Thoreson.

AREAS OF FOCUS
Thoreson focuses her practice on employment litigation and counseling, including discrimination, harassment and wrongful discharge claims, wage and hour compliance, FMLA matters, trade secrets disputes, administrative proceedings before the EEOC and state agencies, and the development of workplace policies and procedures to mitigate risk and ensure compliance.
