Real estate partner Consuella “Connie” Simmons Taylor has joined Seyfarth Shaw in Houston from Baker Botts. Taylor, who most recently served as firmwide chair of Baker Botts’ real estate & construction practice, will focus her practice on commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, financing, leasing and development.
Edmund “Eddy” Daniels has joined Mayer Brown in Houston from McGuireWoods. The power and energy partner will focus his practice on power, energy and infrastructure transactions, including project development, acquisitions and dispositions, joint ventures and commercial agreements for energy and infrastructure assets.
Shayne Henry, a commercial litigation partner, has joined Latham & Watkins in Austin after six years at Kirkland & Ellis across town. He will focus his practice on commercial and intellectual property disputes in state and federal courts, as well as domestic and international arbitration.
After more than three years on the client-side with Pattern Energy, a Houston alternative energy provider, Sarah Ridel has agreed to join Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, the firm with where she began her career.
Capital markets veteran Charles Haag has joined Paul Hastings in Dallas from Winston & Strawn. He will focus his practice on CapM transactions, corporate governance matters, securities law compliance and public company advisory work, according to a news release. Also joining the firm in the same practice group as Haag is Justin Reinus in Paul Hastings’ California office.
Andrew Robbins, a maritime litigation partner, has joined Schouest, Bamdas, Soshea & BenMaier in Houston from Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani. Robbins will focus his practice on maritime law, including complex litigation involving vessel collisions, cargo disputes, wrongful deaths, environmental incidents and aviation matters.
Matthew Grunert, an employee benefits and executive compensation partner, has rejoined Norton Rose Fulbright in Houston from Bracewell. Grunert advises public and private companies, private equity sponsors and boards of directors on the benefits and executive compensation aspects of corporate transactions.
Clarissa Howley Mills, an environmental regulatory partner, has joined Holland & Knight in Dallas from Haynes Boone. She will focus her practice on environmental regulatory counseling, enforcement defense, permitting, litigation, due diligence and transactional matters.
Sam Megally and Will LeDoux, state and local tax partners, and Cindy Ohlenforst, senior counsel, have joined Holland & Knight in Dallas from K&L Gates. The three joined the firm's tax, executive compensation and benefits practice group and will focus their practices on Texas and multistate tax matters.
