Gabrielle “Elle” Grinnell is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Journalism and a minor in Business. She served as UT’s Student Government Vice President, led the National Pan-Hellenic Council for two terms, and is a member of The Friar Society. Joel Goldberg, an energy partner, has joined King & Spalding’s Houston office from Porter Hedges, where he led the firm's Property and Finance Practice Group. He will focus his practice on the development, financing and acquisition of conventional and renewable energy and infrastructure projects.
David Higer, an intellectual property litigator, has joined Cole Schotz from Winstead as a member in the firm's Litigation and Intellectual Property departments.
Kevin Wakefield, a real estate finance lawyer, has joined Jones Day from Hunton Andrews Kurth as of counsel in the firm's Dallas office. He will focus his practice on commercial real estate finance and transactions, representing institutional lenders in commercial mortgage and mezzanine loan originations, while also advising clients on commercial real estate acquisitions, dispositions, development and leasing.
Carey Troell, a public finance shareholder, has rejoined Greenberg Traurig in Houston after practicing there from 2005-2008. He will focus his practice on public finance transactions, serving as bond counsel to state and local governmental entities throughout Texas, structuring financing transactions for school districts, cities, water districts and other public and quasi-public institutions. He also represents nonprofits, financial institutions and underwriters in public finance matters.
Restructuring partners Dan Prieto and Amanda Rush have joined Kirkland & Ellis from Jones Day. They will become the first members of the firm's Restructuring Group based in Dallas, where they will focus on mass tort restructurings, Chapter 11 reorganizations, out-of-court restructurings and distressed M&A transactions.
Michelle Williamson, a finance partner, has joined McGuireWoods in Houston from Kirkland & Ellis. She will focus her practice on financing transactions for energy and infrastructure clients, representing sponsors, borrowers, financial institutions and investors in acquisitions financings, investment-grade lending and other debt financing matters.
Wesley Smith, a real estate partner, has joined Kirkland & Ellis in Dallas from Willkie Farr & Gallagher. He will focus his practice on complex real estate debt and equity transactions, with an emphasis on digital infrastructure development and construction financings.
Austin Green, a commercial real estate shareholder, has joined Polsinelli’s Dallas office from Wick Phillips. He will represent developers, real estate investment funds, REITs, institutional owners and investors in commercial real estate transactions involving acquisitions and dispositions, development, leasing, financing and asset management.
Trevor Coddington, an intellectual property attorney, has joined Kane Russell Coleman Logan as a director in the firm's Austin office. He will focus his practice on patent prosecution, patent litigation, trademark and copyright counseling, and intellectual property strategy.
Platt Richmond has promoted Joseph Kim, Kinsey Lakey and Christopher Harbin to partner, recognizing their contributions to the firm’s commercial real estate, litigation and bankruptcy practices, the firm announced.
