Holland & Knight Adds Veteran Austin M&A, PE Partner From Greenberg Traurig

February 4, 2025 Nick Peck

Holland & Knight announced Tuesday that it has added Ronald Skloss to its team as an Austin-based partner working within its corporate M&A and private equity practice.

Skloss joins the firm after spending over 13 years as a shareholder at Greenberg Traurig, working within its corporate and securities group.

“Ronnie is a veteran corporate attorney who brings a wealth of experience to our Austin office. His practice is highly regarded among his client base in a variety of local and national industries, as well as peers and colleagues across the country,” Jeremiah Mayfield, practice group leader for the Texas Region of the corporate, M&A and securities group at Holland & Knight, said in a release.

Skloss graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1986 with a bachelor’s degree in finance and obtained his law degree from the University of Texas School of Law in 1989.

To begin his law career, following his graduation, Skloss spent seven years working as a partner at Brobeck Phleger & Harrison, working within its business and technology group. Then, in 2003, Skloss left the firm to join Andrews Kurth as a partner, working within its corporate and securities group, primarily serving technology and emerging companies for three years.

Following his stint there, he eventually joined Greenberg Traurig in 2006, where he practiced until his move to Holland & Knight.

Through this new addition, Holland & Knight plans to leverage Skloss’s 23-years of experience working on middle market-focused business transactions, specifically within the PE, M&A and joint venture areas.

“Holland & Knight’s reputation as a leader in middle-market deals intertwines seamlessly with my practice, and I look forward to utilizing the firm’s deep bench across the country to grow my practice and serve my clients. The emphasis the firm places on strategically growing in Texas is important to me and makes it the perfect fit for this next chapter in my career,” Skloss said in the announcement.
