(April 23) – Holland & Knight announced recently the addition of a five-lawyer real estate and finance team from K&L Gates to its Dallas office.
The team is led by partners Jonetta Brooks and Eugene Segrest and includes senior counsel Jennifer Duplissey and Michelle Allen and associate Mark Vandermeulen.
Brooks and Segrest, in a joint statement, said their team was attracted to Holland & Knight’s national reputation for real estate and the opportunity to be on the ground floor of building a Dallas real estate group at the firm.
The lawyers say energy issues related to the rights of mineral interest owners and fee real estate surface owners remain a hot topic in their real estate development deals in Texas.
Holland & Knight opened its Dallas office in July 2013 with 24 lawyers. The office now has 36 lawyers practicing in the areas of corporate and commercial finance, M&A, real estate, energy, restructuring and bankruptcy.
