Holland & Knight Hires Another Longtime King & Spalding Healthcare Veteran

August 28, 2025 Jeff Schnick

Holland & Knight has expanded its healthcare transactions practice by adding Christina McNamara as a new partner in Houston, the firm announced.

Before joining Holland & Knight, she had spent most of her career at King & Spalding. Her 17 years there represent a rare continuity, which is not often seen in a lateral-heavy market like Texas, where multiple moves early in a lawyer’s career can be common. Earlier this month, Holland & Knight did the same thing, hiring another longtime King & Spalding healthcare veteran by adding Houston partner Juliet McBride, who made her first move after spending her entire career there.

“Holland & Knight’s ongoing expansion in Texas as well as in its healthcare practice is impressive, and I’m excited to build on that momentum,” said McNamara. “The firm’s extensive national platform and collaborative environment provide an excellent opportunity for me to advance my practice.”

Her extensive experience at King & Spalding should prove a boon to Holland & Knight’s healthcare & life sciences industry group, which represents healthcare-related businesses, from providers to administrators and private equity firms active in the sector. McNamara also has expertise assisting hospitals, ambulatory surgical centers and clinical labs with complex transactions, compliance and more.

“Christina’s addition brings a top-notch healthcare transactional practice to our healthcare team in Houston, and we are thrilled to welcome her,” said Brent Hill, leader of Holland & Knight’s healthcare section. “Her esteemed reputation and extensive connections to healthcare providers and suppliers in Texas and across the nation make her a valuable asset to our team.”

Holland & Knight ranked seventh for revenue generated by its Texas lawyers in 2024 with $365.1 million in the most recent Lawbook 50, which tracks revenue and number of lawyers for law firms operating in Texas. The firm ranked sixth for Texas lawyer headcount last year.

AREAS OF FOCUS
McNamara focuses on healthcare transactions and regulatory counseling, with expertise in operational, reimbursement and facility licensure issues for a broad spectrum of healthcare providers and suppliers.
