Greenberg Traurig announced this week that it has signed Houston attorney Katherine Treistman away from Orrick, where she served as co-head of the firm’s global energy disputes practice.
Earlier this month, Treistman’s husband Carlos also joined Greenberg Traurig from Orrick, where he was co-chair of the firm’s Latin America practice. The Treistmans helped launch Orrick’s Houston office in 2016.
“Greenberg Traurig’s position of leadership in Texas and in complex litigation will benefit my clients,” Katherine Treistman said in a statement.
“The firm ‘gets’ Texas! This is a synergistic opportunity for me, my clients, and the firm, and I am excited to work with the firm’s powerhouse team and of course, continue working closely with Carlos and our mutual clients.”
Treistman handles commercial disputes involving intellectual property, patent infringement, auditor liability, employment matters and breach of contract and fraud.
Before pursuing a legal education and career, Treistman worked for four months in 1991 as a speech writer for President George H. W. Bush. She graduated law school from the University of Texas in 1996 and practiced for nearly 20 years at the litigation powerhouse Susman Godfrey.
