June 19, 2025 Brooks Igo

Houston Texans Associate General Counsel Sunil Jamal is returning to private practice as a shareholder at Munsch Hardt.

Jamal will lead the firm’s newly established Sports + Entertainment Practice. His corporate practice will also entail representing investors seeking strategic acquisitions and companies in the energy, restaurant and hospitality industries.

“Sunil brings a unique skillset, strong relationships, and a hard-working attitude that make him the ideal leader to launch this practice,” David Coligado, CEO of Munsch Hardt, said in a news release. “His deep experience within a professional sports franchise, combined with a corporate legal background and genuine excitement to build something new, is a rare and powerful combination.”

Jamal’s five years with the Texans spanned corporate governance, sponsorship and vendor contracting, employment and compliance matters, intellectual property, risk management, and league-wide initiatives involving the NFL and its member clubs.

“The convergence of sports, media and capital presents incredible opportunities and legal complexities,” Jamal said in the release. “Our goal is to be the go-to team for organizations and investors building the future of sports and entertainment. I am excited to join Munsch Hardt to provide middle-market support to these exciting and dynamic businesses.”

Jamal began his legal career at Baker Botts.
