(June 21) – Vinson & Elkins announced this week that Houston trial partner Robert Schick has returned to the firm where began his career.
Schick, who started his legal career at V&E in 1981, was most recently practicing at Schick & Copeland, a firm he co-founded in 2014. He says he continued working on joint clients with V&E, and it seemed to make more sense to return.
But he said the experience of starting his own firm with Morgan Copeland was invaluable.
“I paid even greater attention to my clients’ needs,” he said. “It definitely makes me a better lawyer.”
Schick heaped praise on his former law partner Copeland.
“Morgan Copeland is a terrific trial lawyer and will always remain a good friend,” he said. “The firm will remain successful.”
The University of Houston Law Center graduate has handled litigation involving energy, class action, environmental, complex toxic tort, products liability and pharmaceutical matters. He was recently involved in his first trademark infringement case.
