Hunton Andrews Kurth has found a leader for its financial institutions corporate and regulatory practice through the hiring of Austin partner Erin Fonté.
A former executive board member at Dykema, Fonté also was co-head of the Detroit firm’s privacy and data security group. She advises financial institutions and non-bank fintech companies on existing and emerging regulations related to innovative financial services products and services.
“Erin has a national practice and reputation in banking technology, operations and payments, as well as in fintech. She is known for her cutting-edge work focused on the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, blockchain and cryptocurrency,” Peter G. Weinstock, who will serve as co-head of Hunton Andrews Kurth’s financial institutions corporate and regulatory practice with Fonté, said in a statement.
Fonté served on the Federal Reserve Board’s Faster Payments Main Taskforce from 2015 to its conclusion in July 2017 and is a former president of the Texas Association of Bank Counsel.
