Jackson Walker Promotes 13 Attorneys to Partner

Jackson Walker recently announced that 13 attorneys have been promoted to partner.

Nine of the newly-minted partners are based in Austin. The other four represent the firm’s Dallas, Houston and San Antonio offices.

Collin Baker sits in the firm’s Austin office and represents foreign and domestic institutional investors with respect to their alternative assets investments, which include private equity funds, venture capital funds, real estate funds, energy funds and separate managed accounts. He received his law degree from the University of Texas.

Edwin Buffmire, a former clerk at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, represents clients in antitrust, white collar criminal, class action, and other sensitive investigations and complex disputes. He offices in Dallas.

Stephen Calhoun is a UT law graduate who handles complex commercial disputes, including contract claims, real estate matters, healthcare issues and class actions. He is based in San Antonio.

Tyler Davey is an Austin estate planning attorney. He started his career at a law firm in Silicon Valley representing entrepreneurs and their companies in private equity and public securities transactions.

William Dillard focuses his real estate and finance practice on the areas of buying, selling, financing, developing and leasing commercial real estate. He received his law degree from the University of Houston Law Center and offices in Austin.

Noah Galton represents electricity providers, oil and gas midstream and interstate pipeline companies, railroads, municipal utility districts, regional mobility authorities, and school districts in litigation involving eminent domain issues. He is based in Austin.

Carey Hain, a graduate of the South Texas College of Law Houston, handles commercial real estate transactions, including the acquisition, disposition, financing, and leasing of office space, mixed-use centers, multi-family complexes and undeveloped property. She is in the firm’s Houston office.

Andee Hartig, who worked in-house at Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide before joining Jackson Walker, represents public and private companies, real estate investment trusts, real estate investment funds and institutional real estate investors as sellers, purchasers, developers and equity investors in real estate transactions. The Baylor Law School graduate offices in Austin.

Lindsey Moorhead is a Houston environmental attorney who advises clients dealing with site cleanups, remediation and pipeline projects. She graduated from South Texas College of Law Houston, where she was named the Most Outstanding Female.

Kati Orso, who received her law degree from the University of Houston, assists clients in commercial real estate transactions. She previously worked in-house at real estate company NewQuest Properties in Houston. She is now based in Austin.

David Snyder is an Austin corporate attorney who handles private equity transactions and mergers and acquisitions. The UT law grad has a special focus on fund formation on behalf of institutional investors and sponsors.

Scott Weatherford concentrates his trial practice on trade secret, intellectual property and technology-related commercial disputes. He is based in Austin and received his law degree from Baylor.

Jennifer Wertz offices in Austin and represents stakeholders involved in bankruptcy proceedings and related complex litigation, particularly in the healthcare, energy and telecommunications industries. She is a former clerk of the Honorable H. Christopher Mott of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in the Western District of Texas. She earned her law degree at Texas Tech.
