(June 20) – Jones Day’s insurance recovery practice in Dallas is getting a boost from a Pittsburgh-based partner who has relocated.

Peter Laun represents clients in insurance coverage, construction and commercial disputes. He has helped recover more than $1.3 billion for clients as a plaintiff and defended commercial claims as large as $1.6 billion, according to a firm announcement.

“Pete’s deep and broad experience representing clients in connection with insurance, construction, and commercial disputes dovetails with the needs of Texas businesses,” Hilda C. Galvan, partner-in-charge of Jones Day’s Dallas office, said in a statement.

“He adds to an accomplished roster of litigation talent in the Dallas office, and his relocation here is excellent news for our clients and the opportunities we see in Texas.”

Laun is the second Jones Day partner to move from Pittsburgh to Dallas this year. In January, Roy Powell, co-leader of the firm’s construction practice, relocated.
