Jones Day has added Michaela C. Crocker, a career law clerk to Chief Judge Barbara Houser of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas, to its Dallas office as of counsel.
Crocker brings extensive knowledge of the federal court bankruptcy process to the firm’s business restructuring and reorganization practice.
As a clerk for Chief Judge Houser, she assisted in all aspects of hearing and trial preparation, including the preparation of memoranda, attending contested hearings and trials, consulting with the court on outstanding rulings, and drafting opinions, orders and judgments.
“Michaela’s experience with, and deep understanding of, the legal issues facing financially distressed entities will make her a valuable resource to Jones Day clients in Texas and other jurisdictions served by the firm,” Hilda Galvan, partner-in-charge of Jones Day’s Dallas office, said in a statement. “She is a great addition to what is already a very successful team in Dallas.”
After receiving her law degree from SMU in 2001, Crocker worked in the restructuring and reorganization practice group at Vinson & Elkins for almost 12 years.
