(Feb. 1) – Fort Worth-based Kelly Hart & Hallman recently announced the opening of its second Louisiana outpost in Baton Rouge, the state capital.
Louis Phillips, a former U.S. bankruptcy judge, will lead the office with Peter Kopfinger, a transactional attorney. The Baton Rouge office offers the firm the opportunity to expand into public law and regulatory practices in Louisiana.
Kelly Hart planted a flag in Louisiana with a New Orleans office in June 2014. Dee Kelly, Jr., managing partner of the firm, said the Baton Rouge office came together organically through the relationships its New Orleans team had.
“The bonus in this deal is the lawyers have practiced in the state capital for many years,” he said. “It is much like we have done with our Austin office in Texas.”
Kelly Hart & Pitre – the firm’s moniker in Louisiana – now has 13 lawyers in the Bayou State.
