Kent Sullivan & Sean Jordan Jump to Jackson Walker

(Nov. 25) – Jackson Walker significantly beefed up its appellate law practice this week when it announced that a former state appellate court judge and a former deputy solicitor general have joined the firm’s Austin office as partners.

Kent Sullivan and Sean Jordan are the new co-leaders of the Dallas-based law firm’s appellate law section.

Sullivan is a former justice on the Texas Court of Appeals in Houston, a former state district judge and a former First Assistant Attorney General under Greg Abbott.

Jordan is a former deputy solicitor general who has argued cases before the Supreme Court of the United States. He also served as lead counsel for drilling contractor Transocean in the massive Deepwater Horizon litigation.

Both men jumped to Jackson Walker from the Austin office of Sutherland, Asbill & Brennan, an Atlanta-based law firm.

Jackson Walker managing partner Wade Cooper, in a written statement, said the duo “brings unparalleled knowledge of the legal landscape and the insight that comes from having served in key positions in state government.”
