King & Spalding Adds Three More Litigation Partners in Dallas

March 3, 2026 Mark Curriden

The Dallas office of King & Spalding is expanding again.

Exactly one month ago today, the Atlanta-founded corporate law firm dramatically grew its Dallas operations by adding prominent trial lawyer Tom Melsheimer, litigator Steve Stodghill and five other partners from Winston & Strawn.

Today, King & Spalding announced that three additional former Winston partners — LeElle Slifer, John T. Sullivan, and Katrina Eash — have joined Melsheimer and Stodghill.

The firm will now have more than 48 attorneys in Dallas, 83 lawyers in Houston and 40 in Austin.

“As we grow King & Spalding’s Dallas office, our focus is on building a best-in-the-city office that will contribute strongly to the overall growth of the firm,” Melsheimer said. “That means recruiting the very best veteran and next-generation attorneys. Having worked closely with LeElle, John and Katrina for many years, I believe they fit very well with that goal and will make extraordinary additions to the firm.”

Slifer, a Harvard Law School graduate, served as global co-chair of Winston & Strawn’s general litigation practice and has handled disputes ranging from breach of contract and breach of fiduciary duty to patent and copyright infringement and theft of trade secrets.

Sullivan, who earned his law degree from the University of Pennsylvania, focuses on complex commercial litigation for corporations and individuals and also handles internal investigations and white-collar criminal defense cases.

Eash, a graduate of the Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law, has experience handling bet-the-business complex commercial disputes, including class action, patent and trademark infringement, fraud and breach of contract disputes.

“We have a growth mindset animated by a simple principle — we want to be the most talent-rich law firm in Dallas,“ Melsheimer said. “These lawyers, whom we have known and worked with for many years, embody that principle. We won’t grow for growth’s sake but we won’t miss compelling opportunities to enhance what we can offer our clients either.“

“We have had over 20 Winston associate lawyers join us in Dallas, Houston and Washington, D.C. since we left Winston in early February. Between moving, lateral hiring, and the actual work of being a lawyer, this is the busiest 30-day period of my career.“
