(Dec. 11) – Locke Lord announced Monday that David Taylor, Houston office managing partner, is succeeding Jerry Clements as head of the firm at the beginning of the new year.

Clements, who has led the firm since 2006, will become chair emeritus. Taylor was unanimously nominated to step into her role by its Leadership Succession Committee and Executive Committee.

Taylor has been with Locke Lord since graduating from the University of Texas School of Law in 1988. He holds various leadership positions at the firm including chairing the firm’s capital markets practice, leading the Finance Committee and sitting on its Executive Committee.

In addition to his responsibilities at Locke Lord, Taylor is on the board of directors for the Greater Houston Partnership and the board of trustees of Whitestone REIT.

During her 11-year tenure as chair, Clements navigated Locke Lord through two major mergers and helped grow the firm’s annual revenues from $222 million to $559 million.
