Locke Lord Elevates Eight to Partner in Texas

(Jan. 4) – Locke Lord recently announced its promotions for 2016. The class includes 16 new partners in eight U.S. cities, effective Jan. 1.

Eight of the new Locke Lord partners are based in one of the firm’s Texas offices.

Gardner Pate, a 2007 University of Texas School of Law graduate, is the only Austin-based lawyers promoted. He is a registered lobbyist and focuses his practice on government relations, advising clients before the Texas legislature and Texas administrative agencies.

James Bilton, David Lange and Matt Stockstill are based in the firm’s Dallas office.

Bilton, a 2005 University of Texas School of Law graduate, represents financial institutions, insurers and manufacturers in commercial contract disputes, securities-related matters and class actions.

Lange focuses his corporate practice on M&A, private equity, venture capital and leveraged buy-out transactions, senior and subordinated debt financings, public and private securities offerings, oil and gas transactions and corporate governance matters. He is a 2007 graduate of the University of Texas School of Law.

Stockstill focuses his practice on mergers and acquisitions, private equity, securities transactions and general corporate matters across a variety of industries including healthcare, oil and gas and technology.

Walker Clarke, Lauren Doughty, Eric Larson and Jonathan Pelayo are based in the firm’s Houston office.

Clarke, a 2007 South Texas College of Law graduate, represents clients on matters relating to M&A, dispositions, joint ventures, securities offerings, corporate restructurings, venture capital and corporate governance.

Doughty practices in the firm’s trust and estates and tax sections. She is a 2006 graduate of the University of Texas School of Law.

Larson advises clients on tax law and provides tax and structure analysis for business transactions involving partnerships, limited liability companies, corporations and tax-exempt entities. He is a 2007 graduate of the University of Texas School of Law.

Pelayo, a 2007 University of Texas School of Law graduate, focuses his practice on construction litigation.
