By Brooks Igo – (July 14) – The Dallas Historical Society awarded Locke Lord partner Stuart Bumpas with its 2014 Award for Excellence, the firm announced recently. He will be presented with the award at a luncheon on Nov. 20.

Bumpas, a University of Texas School of Law graduate, focuses his practice on employee benefits, tax and nonprofit organizations. He has served as pro bono legal counsel for the following organizations in the past: Dallas Museum of Art, the American Heart Association, the Hockaday School and The Dallas Foundation. Additionally, he has served on the boards of the Dallas Museum of Art, Goodwill Industries, the Southwestern Medical Foundation and the Callier Center for Communication Disorders.

“Stuart is richly deserving of this honor,” Don Glendenning, managing partner of Locke Lord’s Dallas office, said in a statement. “He always finds time for pro bono work and helping to better the Dallas community. He sets an extraordinary example for every one of us.”
