(Feb. 1) – Mayer Brown recently announced that Houston partner Shawn O’Brien has been selected by the Internal Revenue Service to serve on its Advisory Council (IRSAC).
The IRSAC provides an organized public forum for IRS officials and representatives of the public to discuss key tax administration issues, according to a press release issued by the IRS.
O’Brien, the only Texan appointed to IRSAC in 2016, will serve a three-year term. He is also currently serving the State Bar of Texas Tax Section as chair of the General Tax Committee.
