January 2, 2019 Brooks Igo

McKool Smith announced on Wednesday that seven attorneys have been promoted to principal, including six in Texas.

The commercial litigation firm minted new principals from each of its three Texas offices.

Kristina Baehr represents clients with matters involving fraud, mortgage-backed securities, indemnity, cybersecurity, breach of contract, trade secrets, shareholder derivative suits, patent infringement, FRAND, pharmaceuticals and patent licensing. She offices in Austin.

Blake Bailey, a former law clerk for Chief Judge Edith Jones of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, is a Houston attorney who focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation and intellectual property litigation, with an emphasis on standard essential patents. He also handles bankruptcy litigation-related matters.

Travis DeArman concentrates his practice on commercial and intellectual property litigation, with a particular emphasis on patent litigation. He clerked for the Honorable J. Rodney Gilstrap of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas and is based in Dallas.

Ryan Hargrave has represented clients in commercial and intellectual property litigation matters involving a broad range of technologies, including pharmaceuticals, wireless networking, cellular networking and downhole oilfield tools. The Dallas attorney received her law degree from the University of Houston in 2010.

Warren Lipschitz offices in Dallas and handles patent infringement and technology cases. He helped win a $145 million verdict against Apple in which he split closing arguments with Mike McKool.

Avery Williams, a 2010 graduate of SMU Dedman School of Law, focuses his practice on commercial litigation and intellectual property, including contract disputes, breach of fiduciary duty actions, and trade-secret litigation.
