(Nov. 14) – Morgan Lewis announced Monday that two healthcare partners from BakerHostetler have joined the firm’s Houston office.
Susan Feigin Harris and Donna Clark represent hospitals, health systems and other medical providers in regulatory, transactional, litigation and government investigation matters.
“Morgan Lewis has a great platform on which to build our national healthcare practice,” Harris says. “Its life sciences group and its existing health care team provide fantastic synergies.”
Harris counsels clients on reimbursement issues and disputes involving government programs such as Medicare and Medicaid and commercial payors. She is a trusted advisor to numerous children’s hospitals across the country.
The University of Houston Law Center graduate says the overall stability of Medicare and Medicaid is exceedingly important.
“The continued budget cuts, research cuts, changes to insurance coverage and uncertainty will challenge the ability of large health systems to commit capital, build and invest in research,” she adds.
Clark advises healthcare providers on structuring joint ventures and contractual relationships in compliance with laws, including federal and state anti-kickback statutes and self-referral laws.
