(Feb. 6) – Morgan Lewis recently added depth to its corporate practice in Houston by luring partner Sameer Mohan.

Mohan says there were “tremendous synergies” in rejoining former BakerHostetler colleagues Donna Clark, Gregory Etzel, Susan Feigin Harris, Scott McBride and John Petrelli.

“Morgan Lewis provided an attractive opportunity due to the breadth and depth of the firm’s corporate, private equity and M&A practices along with the global platform will allow my clients to be serviced on both domestic and cross-border transactions particularly for energy sector clients,” he adds.

Mohan advises energy and healthcare clients in mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures. In the past year, he has represented an upstream venture in a $100 million investment by a private equity firm to develop the company’s exploration and production operations in Texas and Colorado.

The University of Houston Law Center graduate predicts more deals involving private equity investment in 2018, particularly in energy transactions and ventures.

“This has been the trend for the past several years and it does not appear to be slowing down in the current environment,” he says.
