Building on its expansion into Los Angeles and recent investment in entertainment law, Munck Wilson Mandala has added video game expert Wade Cloud as a partner in its Dallas headquarters.
Cloud – who was previously at Addison law firm Hiersche, Hayward, Drakeley & Urback – has been working with video game companies since 1992. He handled the licensing and trademark work on iconic video games DOOM, Quake, Rage and Wolfenstein.
“With the massive growth of esports, companies like Sony, Apple and Nintendo, and people like Mark Cuban and Jerry Jones are investing in this industry that combines sports, technology, and video games,” Bill Munck, founder of Munck Wilson, said in a statement.
“As we continue to expand this practice, we will recruit smart attorneys who can represent more developers, investors, and other players who operate in this emerging industry.”
A Baylor Law School graduate, Cloud advises clients on trademark registration and protection, licensing of intellectual property and acquisition and sales.
